Deuteronomy 31-34; Psalm 49

Who do you trust with what matters most?

Moses was about to die, so he passes on all the teachings that are most important. This is who you are supposed to trust when it matters most, God. Here is how you are to worship Him. If you do these things He will bless you as you make your way into the Promised Land.

God gives Moses a sneak peak, telling Moses that the people will reject God. They won’t always follow. They won’t always do the right thing, and God will have to punish and even destroy them for it.

The Psalmist recounts the brevity of life. How everyone who draws breath will one day draw their last.

Who will you trust when it matters most?

Your riches. Redemption can’t be bought.

Your intelligence. The wise die just like the fools.

Your power. The strong die just like the weak.

When it matters most, the only one we can trust is the Lord our God.

But as for me, God will redeem my life. He will snatch me from the power of death. Psalm 49:15

Only God has the power to save, to redeem, and in the end He is the only one we can trust, when it matters most.
