Galatians 4-6; Psalm 39

How many years do we have on this earth? How many more years left? We don’t know. The span of our life, especially in comparison to the length of human history is but a speck. Our time on the stage of life is so brief

David says that our time on earth is but the width of our hand, our entire existence is but a breath.

So what will we do with the time given us?

Some times we think, our time is short so I don’t want to rock the boat. David said that he tried to remain silent but his words grew hot within him. Has God put something in you that needs to be said, that needs to be done. If you smother a fire it will go out. David said the words that grew hot within him, he was reminded that his time was short, his opportunity for influence was fleeting. It is implied that he shared.

Do we smother or fuel the fire that God has put in us?

Paul uses the metaphor of fruit. That during our time here on earth we are to produce fruit in keeping with the spirit that is in us. If we have the spirit of this world, the fruit we produce will be destructive, harmful or have evil results. But if the we have the Spirit of God in us the fruit should look entirely different. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

So what do we produce with our lives?
