Blogging the Bible- March 10

Numbers 4-7; Psalm 29

How often do we focus our attention and praise on God? Maybe on Sunday morning as we gather for worship. As we sing songs of praise, we pause and consider the words that pass from our lips. We let the words wash over us. We get lost in the moment.

But when the moment passes when do we consider the worth of our God?

Do we wake each morning to praise God?

Do we consider His great worth each day?

We too often think or restrict worship to our corporate gatherings. We limit the moments of worship to times accompanied by music.

How can we express praise? How can we express worship?

  • Journaling is a great way to put down thoughts. To allow the words on the page to reflect back to you your thoughts. You can write out the attributes of God.
  • Service is putting worship in action. Worship is a lifestyle where we show God to the world. Through service we display God’s love to others around us in a tangible way. As Jesus said, they can see our good deeds and praise our Father in Heaven.
  • Sing all by yourself. In the car. In the shower. In the kitchen. There is nothing quite like getting a good song stuck in your head (even if you sing the wrong lyrics) and letting its truth encourage you as you praise God.
  • Study– We need to seek God in His word that way we can worship not only through our emotion, but also engage our head with our heart.
