When Progress Stalls

It’s frustrating isn’t it? You are cruising along making great progress and then… a wall.

It might be in your fitness program. You’re losing weight, adding muscle and gaining stamina all while losing inches and looking better in the mirror. Your clothes are fitting better, and you can see your goal when, BAM! Your progress stalls.

It might be in your job. You are learning new skills, hitting your goals, maybe you’ve even picked up a promotion or two. Then after while you feel like you are in a holding pattern, not really going anywhere. All this occupational momentum you had is gone. Stall.

The same could go for school or learning a musical instrument or trying to make a sports team.

There are times in our lives when our progress stalls. Sometimes it is our natural ceiling, we’ve maxed out the abilities we’ve been given. Other times we don’t have the try, the needed effort, to push through.

The same can go for our spiritual lives as well. We can be progressing in our journey with Jesus and then an obstacle causes us to stall. A difficult person or something from our past pulls us back. Our momentum is lost.

The question is do you push through? Do you keep going? Or do you allow this to keeping you from launching into the next stage of what God wants for you.

In these times of difficult, we need to lean on the care and support of others to help guide us through. We were never meant to be alone. We were never intended to fly solo. In fact, a friend can help us see the progress we’ve made and encourage us to keep going as we pursue the physical, intellectual, emotional, financial and SPIRITUAL goals we have set for our lives.

Keep pressing on.
