The Plan

God has always had a plan to build His church.

First of all, we need to remember that it is not OUR church. It is His church. We have been called out of our sin to be a part of His church, His people, His Kingdom.

Since it is His church, we should probably follow His plan. We tend to think we are so smart and clever. We have plans and promotions; gadgets and gizmos, among other things that we probably don’t need.

What is the plan:

  • Rely on God- Prayer is often strangely absent from many of our church services. How can you worship when you don’t invite the God you are worshiping into your midst? “It might make someone uncomfortable.” Good, we shouldn’t be comfortable in God’s presence. He is holy; we are not.
  • Accept His Grace- God has made a way to take care of our sin problem. He sent His Son Jesus to take the punishment for our sin by dying on the cross. His blood, not ours, was shed so that we might be receive the righteousness of God in our life and be found acceptable to Him.
  • Tell Others- Some people have never heard this good news. Some people don’t even know they have a problem. Unfortunately, not knowing isn’t going to be an acceptable excuse when we stand before God. So our job, as part of God’s church, is to tell everyone about God’s solution to our problem.
  • Rely on God- “Didn’t you already say this?” Yes, but we need to remember that it is not because of our goodness that God loves us. It is only by His grace given to us through faith that we can receive forgiveness and His righteousness.

The plan is simple. The stakes are high. Will you take the risk? Will you help fulfill The Plan?
